What is changing?
Starting 5/15, large paper bags will incur an environmental fee of 5¢ per bag to discourage their use and promote reusable options. Our paper bags will be slowly transitioned out.
How is this making a difference?
- Introducing an environmental fee reduces the use of single-use bags by more than 66%.
- Right now, 80% of paper bags are not recycled and end up in landfills. This change will keep millions of bags out of landfills.
- Reusing bags is currently proven to be the most sustainable option to reduce our carbon footprint.
